The annual fundraiser for the Royal Variety Charity took place last month, but a broadcast of the eventaired in the U.K.on Sunday night — and the Prince of Wales wascaught on cameralaughing to the point of tears during comedian Tom Allen’s performance.
Allen’s routine included a string of jokes about the tests that websites put users through to prove they are not robots, including trying to decipher sloppy handwriting. “You know robots can’t read cursive script,” the comedian said dramatically.
Allen continued, “Oh, I promise I’m not a robot. Please give me one last chance. Okay, one last chance. Click on the box that says, ‘I’m not a robot.’ "

This year’s show had an extra royal presence, asCrown Princess Victoriaand Prince Daniel of Swedenalso stepped out for the eventduring their three-day visit to the U.K.
The tradition of royals attending the theatrical event began with William’s great-great-grandfather King George V in 1921.

On the previous night, Piers Morgan named the royals on his show.

Prince William and Princess Kate didn’t answer or acknowledge the questions, walking towards each other and briefly holding hands before William put a hand on his wife’s back and they walked down the red carpet.
