Sacha Baron CohenandIsla Fishermay be in the public eye professionally, but they keep their family life out of the spotlight.
Cohen and Fisher share two daughters and one son. The actors have refrained from posting their children on social media in an effort to protect their privacy.
In April 2024, Fisher and Cohen announced theyfiled for divorceafter over two decades of marriage on their Instagram Stories.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down," they wrote over a photo of the two in tennis gear. “In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
TheConfessions of a Shopaholicstar has spoken in the past about her decision to maintain her children’s privacy, tellingMarie ClaireAustraliain 2021 that they have a right to “just be kids.”
“Motherhood is actually my favorite topic, but I keep it private. I think all parents are trying to protect their kids, especially in the social media age,” Fisher told the outlet. “I want our children to have a normal childhood, being able to play outside without pressure or scrutiny.”
While Cohen and Fisher have been busy with their professional careers, they — like many parents — also do their best to maintain a balance between work and spending time with their children.
“I wish I had the secret to balancing it all as a mum, but I don’t have a clue. ‘Don’t worry about being perfect or you’ll miss out on the fun!’ ― that’s the message fromMarge in Chargeand I try to keep it in mind myself when I am juggling life,” she told theDaily Mailof her children’s book,Marge in Charge.

They have three kids

Three years after getting engaged in 2004, Fisher and Cohen welcomed their first child, a girl, on Oct. 17, 2007. Isla first revealed her pregnancy in June of that year, later adding she didn’t have “any plans to jump back into [work after the birth].”
A few years later, in the summer of 2010, the family of three became four when their second daughter was born.
On March 17, 2015, the couple’s first son and third child was born.
Cohen and Fisher moved to Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic
Cohen and Fisher made the decision to temporarily move to her home country of Australia in 2020 during quarantine, she revealed toMarie ClaireAustralia. The family relocated to Sydney where they enrolled their kids in school.
“I feel like I can be myself in Australia,” she told the outlet. “I love the people. I love the colours and the sights and the taste and the smells. And there’s something about being home which is just … it feels very magical.”
She toldThe Australian’s Women Weeklyin November 2022, however, that the time had come for her family to dust off their passports and return to the U.S., as she had projects to work on and didn’t want to commute across the globe to see her family.
“I’m not just responsible for myself,” she told the outlet. “I have four other human beings [in my life] and I need to keep everybody happy … So sadly, I won’t be staying on here.”
Fisher is a hands-on mom

When she’s not busy shooting movies, Fisher is a supportive mom, helping her kids with homework and dropping them off at school.
While her kids were in quarantine, Fisher assisted them with their schoolwork — though she may have come across some struggles when it came to math homework. “My fourth-grade long division has really improved,” she joked to PEOPLE in January 2021.
Fisher not only helps her children with their assignments, but she also is a pro at school drop-off. However, as she told PEOPLE in April 2023, she’s not interested in competing with the stylish moms.
“It depends on the climatebut ultimately I’m going with a sweatpant,” she said. “I know it’s not cute. And a hoodie. That’s kind of where I’m at right now.”
“I know there’s a lot of competition, there’s blow-outs, tailored blazers,” the actress added of the other moms. “But I cut myself some slack and just say, ‘The fact that you’ve showered is a win. You’re ahead of the curve, Isla. You got this.’ "
Fisher uses her acting skills while parenting
Fisher may keep her kids separate from her professional life, but she does use some of her acting skills while parenting.
In her interview withThe Australian’s Women Weekly, theWedding Crashersstar shared that she acts out voices and creates characters when telling stories to her children.
“I love to tell stories to my kids,” she said. “One of the perks of being an actor is that you have a bunch of silly voices in your back pocket to whip out at bedtime.”
Fisher and Cohen’s children gave their input on Fisher’s writing

In addition to telling her children tales, Fisher is theauthor of children’s books, including theMargeandMazyseries, and her kids are the sounding board for some of her ideas.
The actress also uses storytelling as a way to connect with her children — and they have inspired her creatively as well.
“Marge was conceived as a way to get my children to bed,” she told theDaily Mail. “She became this larger-than-life character who they wanted to hear more about before they went to sleep. Storytelling is a great opportunity for parents to connect and discuss ideas with their children.”
Fisher hopes her kids see her as a “cool mom”

While Fisher may be “cool” in the public’s eyes, she knows her own children may be her toughest critics.
However, while she maintains that goal, Fisher also shared in her interview withMarie ClaireAustralia that she doesn’t like to bring her work home with her, preferring to shield her child from it.
“I try not to bring it home," she told the outlet. “They’re only exposed to the fun parts like picking a pretty dress and having hair and makeup done.”
