The mother of a12-year-old North Carolina girlwho has not been seen since November 2022 was due in court on Friday but reportedly refused to appear.
As theObserverreports, at 10 a.m., the judge was still waiting for the suspect to arrive.

WNCW reported that Cureton said the woman “refused to be brought up,” as her legal team asked for no action to be taken during the hearing. While the judge said the hearing would continue at a later date, it had not yet been announced.
The Mecklenburg County Courthouse did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for more information on Monday.
A lawyer for Diana Cojocari did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Aspreviously reported, Diana and her husband Christopher Palmiter were initially arrested and charged in December 2022 with failure to report the disappearance of a child to law enforcement, shortly after Madalina had vanished on Nov. 23.
The girl, who was 11 at the time of her disappearance, was last seen at her Cornelius, N.C., home, and the couple allegedly reported her missing to a school resource officer at Bailey Middle School weeks later on Dec. 15, 2022.
Diana and Palmiter were indicted on the charges in January 2023, as Palmiter posted a bond of $25,000 that August and must wear an ankle monitor, per WCNC. Diana’s bond is currently $250,000, and she previously plead not guilty in August 2023, perQueen City News.
