Electric vehicles are a popularpollution reduction scheme , but vulnerable communities are being left behind . Anew studypublished in PLOS Climate study California ’s galvanizing fomite rebate program and detect that EVs are indeed reducing befoulment — but only for already affluent areas .
The researcher study data from California’sClean Vehicle Rebate Projectfrom 2010 to 2021 . They mapped the geographic distribution of more than 400,000 rebates issued for electrical vehicle through the program during those years .
