Here ’s the unearthly thing aboutan already great movielike Captain America : Civil War . It ’s such a big hit that it does n’t have to be a good Blu - re . It could be the movie on a disc in a paper slipcover and it would sell like gaga . But thankfully , Marvel decided to carry the press release with lots of solid , additional mental object .
The centrepiece of the disk is a two - part infotainment call United We Stand , Divided We Fall : The Making of Captain America Civil War . time in at 45 - second , this is an entertaining , informative , yet fairly straight - forward look behind - the - vista of the moving picture . Virtually every major character is given their own section here and each one is filled with on - set footage you ’ve never assure before .
The job with the doc is there is n’t really any engagement or narration to it . It ’s more or less a fluff piece , but at least an extensive and crazy watchable frivolity piece . It commence with the Civil War comics , drops in great deal of minuscule teases about sidebar and tangents in the Marvel Cinematic Universe , and features consultation with everyone . The highlight is in part two when two - and - a - one-half minutes are dedicated to Tom Holland as Spider - Man , featuring footage of him in a full motion - capture suit . There ’s also some very rude footage of the big airport conflict that makes you value the effects work in the film .
I could have watched another 45 min of behind the panorama footage , but the termination comes kind of short . From there it ’s on to two four - minute recaps of the events that led Captain America and Iron Man to Civil War . There are new audience here , but nothing a Marvel fan has n’t seen or known before .
Other extras let in eight minutes of deleted scene , which really should be shout out “ One Six - Minute Scene and Lots of Short Clips . ” The long picture is the extended translation of Peggy ’s funeral , which features lots of excess moment for Cap , Sharon , Falcon , and Widow . After that there ’s a very abbreviated scenery where Zemo meets Doctor Broussard ( act by Centennial State - theater director Joe Russo),a small exchange between Black Panther and Black Widowthat ’s coolheaded but add little , then a light consequence from the final conflict where Bucky start a hold of Cap ’s shield . This bit , which is already online , 1000 % should not have been cut back .
Those scenes then roll up into a three - minute gag reel , which is always funbut not something you ’d ever watch again .
At this point , the disc would already be worth owning , but there ’s more . Civil War has a characteristic - distance sound recording comment to accompany the movie , an extra that has become less and less distinctive on a spill like this . Even easily , this comment feature both directors ( Joe and Anthony Russo ) and both writer ( Steven McFeely and Chris Markus ) , all together , in the same room look on the moving picture at once . That in itself is rare , as often multiple the great unwashed will record separately and be redact together . But having everyone in the same way gives the commentary a very lax , “ hang - out ” feel , and it ’s packed with interesting insights , anecdotes , and more . Finally , along with the disc itself , you get a digital download of the film . The iTunes version include its own list of sole feature , most of which are from previous freeing of Captain America and Iron Man motion picture . Still , if you do n’t own those , they are an awesome trip down memory lane , as is a force out six - minute collage of all the Marvel movies so far . Oh , and there ’s an other look at Doctor Strange too .
If you are on the fence about peck up Captain America : Civil War , do n’t be . The movie is great , whole rewatchable , and you ’ve got at least two full night of cognitive content to enjoy in addition to the film . The one caution is that we know from history that Marvel rereleases their discsin bombastic box set at the end of a Phase . As this is the first film in Phase Three , though , it ’s going to be quite the wait for that . catch this one .
