Reader Cory Lykins likes the welfare of remote start for heating up your car during cold winter month , but he ’s not so peachy on the price or the waste of gas , so he came up with his own solution using a wireless light-colored electrical switch , an extension cord , and a ceramic smoke .

Full sizePlug the switch in to an outdoor outlet and execute the electric cord to your car . Open a elevator car door and loop the electric cord around the threshold and into the hood wrinkle of the car and then down into the car , so the door does nt pinch the cord when close . Plug in the heater and sit it on a stable surface in your car , crap sure its airflow is n’t blocked or it ca n’t easily light over . Use the removed electric switch to turn the whole setup on when you first fire up up . [ Lifehacker ]
