Last nighttime ’s two - 60 minutes Agent Carter time of year premiere was a circumstances of merriment . But it also gave us two other ambitious women who are foils for Peggy Carter — one of whom we ’ve seen before . There ’s a mystical murder casing , which expect like the body of work of the “ Lady in the Lake ” serial killer , but actually the victim is a scientist from a company call Isodyne who was sleep with her gaffer . And she was display to something called Zero Matter , which turned her into an icicle that freezes anyone who comes into physical contact with her rakehell .
We finally con that the Zero Matter was discovered during an atomic trial in the desert , and plainly it ’s connected to the “ darkforce ” we visit during Agents of SHIELD season one . ( Andit’ll pop up again in the Doctor Strange pic . ) Isodyne was in reality a front for a shady organization whose leaders all wear the same snazzy lapel pivot , and that organization tells Isodyne promontory Calvin Chadwick to pull up the cud on the surgery because it ’s receive too much attention .
But Chadwick ’s wife , movie star Whitney Frost , make up one’s mind to take the Zero topic for herself — and it all locomote horribly wrong , and she gets the Zero Matter in the worst possible way , becoming some kind of human receptacle for its unstable big businessman .

At the start of the instalment , she takes down Dottie Underwood , the psycho Russian undercover agent who became possessed with her last season . Now Dottie is straight - up impersonating Peggy , robbing a bank to get hold of one of those Evil Organization membership PIN number , and Peggy tries to question her . But Jack Thompson , who is head of the SSR but still feels jeopardise by Peggy ’s competency , takes her off the Underwood case and beam Peggy to L.A.
Watching Jack essay to interrogate Dottie himself is kind of sorry — his insecurity and fear that he can never be the agent that Peggy is are decent there on the surface , and Dottie exploits them . She ’s an age starlet , so we get a few tantrum where the great unwashed do “ maturate starlet ” stuff like talk about the lines around her centre . She is challenging and desire her hubby to decree the world , but is start to realize the honest-to-god boy may not have it in him .
And then there ’s the Secret Society of Lapel Pins — which may or may not be Hydra — and its simmering terror in the scope . To the extent that the running theme of Agent Carter is the creeping conservativism of American society after World War II , and the way in which someone like Peggy , who was allowed to be a entire badass during the warfare , is advertise back into a traditional feminine character , the Lapel Pin Conspiracy is probably going to thread up represent the Old Boys connection and the Patriarchy and stuff .
