Three women have died after their car collided with an alleged drunk driver in California.

Alejandra Olaez, 33, her sister-in-law Yesenia Olaez, 33, and family friend, Lorena Morales, 58, were killed on Saturday in Pomona, according to areleasefrom the Pomona Police Department.

The statement added that officers attended the scene of a two-vehicle collision at 10:59 PM on Saturday, where “all involved parties were moderately to severely injured.”

“Pomona PD officers and LA County Fire Department personnel treated the parties on-scene, unfortunately 2 passengers succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” the police statement continued.

On Tuesday, Siharath was charged with three counts of murder and one count of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing injury. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on March 28 at Pomona Courthouse, per a press release from Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon.

Marolaes had been driving the car with her husband, Juan Garcia, in the front passenger seat when the crash took place, the outlet added.

Garcia was transported to a hospital in critical condition, while Alejandra’s 12-year-old daughter Naomi was also taken to hospital and placed in the intensive-care unit, continued ABC7.

Alejandra’s sister-in-law Yesenia was also in the process of adopting her 11-year-old nephew, according to ABC7.

“She was a loving mother,” Yesenia’s nephew Brian Gonzalez said at a vigil on Sunday per the outlet. “I feel like her time was way too short. Although I do know she died peacefully and she died loving me. I wanted her to see me grow up.”

“There’s nothing more I could say in regards to her,” Blanca Gonzalez said of her sister toKTLA 5. “She was the best sister… and the best person in our family.”
